Dunkin’ To Begin Offering Services on the Staten Island Ferry in 2025

December 20, 2024

Dunkin’ is ready to fuel the New York City morning commute, with the coffee giant announcing it will begin offering goodies and services on the Staten Island Ferry in 2025.

The New York Post reports that the New England-based coffee company will fill a gap left by the COVID-19 outbreak by first offering coffee, doughnuts, and other snacks to commuting New Yorkers.

According to the New York City Department of Transportation, the no-alcohol service will start on two ferries, Staff Sergeant Michael H. Ollis and Dorothy Day, and then spread to the rest of the fleet.

As of last week, there was “no definitive date” for Dunkin’s grand opening, but according to a representative, the business is “targeting [an] end-of-year” debut date for its much-awaited coffee shops.

The coffee chain also secured the rights to the alcohol concession on the boats but stated that a franchisee would run the operation and start at an undisclosed later date.

“We are pleased that the concession is returning after many years of staying vacant,” Staten Island Borough President Vito Fossella said in a statement to the outlet. “We believe the concession is a nice convenience for ferry riders.”

Dunkin’ Leaked Its Holiday Menu

The doughnut giant made headlines last week when its winter menu leaked online.

Longtime lovers of the coffee chain will love the leaked Dunkin’ winter menu that popular Instagram food blogger Markie Devo (@snackolator on the app) shared.

According to Devo’s leak, Dunkin’ may launch five new coffees on Dec. 31: Brown Sugar Shakin’ Espresso, Lava Cake Coffee, Lava Cake Signature Latte, Raspberry Lava Cake Coffee, and Brown Sugar Oat Iced Matcha Latte. The last two will only be accessible through the app. The Shakin’ Espresso includes a thick layer of pillowy foam created during the shaking process.

Dunkin’s bakery display might feature the new Whoopie Pie Specialty Donut and the returning Iced Lemon Loaf Cake. According to Devo, the Whoopie Pie Specialty Donut is a chocolate cake donut that is glazed and cut horizontally. It is filled and topped with vanilla whipped buttercream. The lemon cake, on the other hand, seems to have the usual flavor of a lemon-flavored loaf.
