September 21, 2023
Unilever is reportedly reinitiating efforts to sell a portfolio of non-core beauty and personal care brands, including Q-Tips and Impulse, by enlisting the services of investment banks Morgan Stanley and Evercore. This move, not previously disclosed, signals a strategic shift under Unilever’s new CEO, Hein Schumacher, who is focused on streamlining the company’s operations amid challenges posed by inflation. The brand portfolio, known as Elida Beauty, encompasses well-known names like Caress, St. Ives, and Ponds, and generated around $760 million in revenue in 2022.
