Factory 2-U Stores Files for Bankruptcy Protection

The off-price apparel and domestics retailer with 243 stores in Western states has filed for Chapter 11 in order to restructure its operations and finances. The chain will remain open during the process and has petitioned the court to allow it to pay employees, honor gift cards and continue paying other necessary expenses while it schedules payments owed to suppliers.
