Family Dollar tells shareholders DG deal can't work

In a letter to shareholders, Family Dollar urged approval of its plan to take over Dollar Tree insisting that Dollar General's higher bid for the chain is doomed due to the company's inability to shed enough stores to gain regulatory approval.
