Fontainebleau Las Vegas Finally Opens After 16 Years
December 14, 2023
The Fontainebleau Las Vegas hosted a grand opening Wednesday night, completing years of development that have spanned more than 16 years. A VIP red carpet and celebration was held in the evening before the doors opened to the general public just before midnight.
Fontainebleau Development Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey Soffer, joined by Fontainebleau Las Vegas executives, local government officials, community dignitaries, and VIPs, marked the historic moment. “Welcome to the Fontainebleau Las Vegas era,” Soffer said, as reported by PR Newswire. “It’s fitting that Las Vegas is a city of dreams and possibilities, as this resort stands as a symbol of perseverance, our unwavering commitment to excellence, and our belief in the transformative power of genuine, world-class hospitality.”
The resort features more than 3,600 hotel rooms, 550,000 square feet of convention space, and a 150,000-square-foot casino floor. The hotel tower stands 737 feet tall, making it the tallest occupied building in Nevada.
Fontainebleau’s BleauLive Theater is a 3,800-seat venue. Post Malone is the first headliner performing for New Year’s Eve weekend.
However, Justin Timberlake beat him by headlining an invite-only hotel opening. The Grammy winner performed a set of hits to a crowd of A-list stars, including Cher, Tom Brady, Kim Kardashian, and Lenny Kravitz, reported People Magazine. Also in attendance were Kendall Jenner, Ivanka Trump, Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, Nikki Reed, Bryan Cranston, and Aaron Paul.
The Wednesday night show marks Timberlake’s second live performance of 2023. In November, he played his first private event of the year for Baron Capital’s annual Investment Conference. It was held at the Metropolitan Opera House at Lincoln Center in New York City, according to Business Wire.
According to the Fountainbleau’s website, the hotel has a 70-year legacy. Their original resort opened in 1954 along the famed shores of Miami Beach, where it entertained celebrity guests like Frank Sinatra. Its iconic design is a spectacular blend of Miami’s golden era and modern luxury.
