Francis Departs Penney, Johnson to Assume Duties

Michael Francis, the former Target exec brought in to help Ron Johnson "reimagine" J.C. Penney, has abruptly left less than nine months after joining the department store chain. Mr. Johnson, Penney CEO, will take control of the company's marketing and merchandising functions.
