Giant Loses, Safeway Gains in D.C. Market

According to the annual ranking published by Food World magazine, Giant Food's Washington-area market share slipped from 40.02 percent to 38.02 percent in the 12 month period ending March 31, although it maintained its number one position over Safeway, up slightly with 27.48 percent.
