Alphabet, Google's parent company, reported a healthy third quarter yesterday. Net income rose 27 percent to $5.06 billion. The company attributed much of its recent success to strength in mobile advertising and online video ad revenue at its YouTube division. In analyzing its mobile revenue, Google said that paid clicks rose 33 percent even as the average amount paid by advertisers per click fell by 11 during the third quarter.
