H-E-B opens first Fresh Bites convenience store

H-E-B has opened Fresh Bites, its new convenience store banner, adjacent to one of its grocery stores in Leander, TX, north of Austin. Johnny Mojica, public affairs manager at H-E-B, said the store represents the first step in the company's plan to rebrand its 12 gas station stores with foods sold in its supermarkets. "I think what we wanted our customers to feel when they stepped into these H-E-B Fresh Bites convenience stores was that they felt like they were going into an H-E-B store," said Mr. Mojica.
