Häagen-Dazs Celebrates Trailblazing Women With The Rose Project
March 8, 2024
In an ode to the unsung heroes of our time, Häagen-Dazs proudly unveils The Rose Project’s latest champions. These exceptional women, dubbed the “Women Who Don’t Hold Back,” are paving the way for a brighter future. And now, the search for the next wave of inspirational figures begins, as nominations open for The Rose Project Class of 2024.
The Rose Project, named after the visionary Rose Mattus, co-founder of Häagen-Dazs, kicked off its mission last year on International Women’s Day. Rose, often overshadowed by her husband’s acclaim, played a pivotal role in shaping Häagen-Dazs into the iconic brand we know today.
This year, Häagen-Dazs proudly announces the Class of 2023 winners, chosen from over 2,500 nominees spanning 27 countries. These five remarkable individuals are making waves in their respective fields, from environmental advocacy to championing women’s rights.
Eunice Maia, Jennifer Seifert, Karol Ivanna Aceves Flores, Sarah Kandolo, and Yarett Piñeiro are the embodiment of resilience and determination. Their stories serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration for women worldwide.
Each winner will receive a portion of the $100,000 bursary grant, empowering them to continue their exceptional work or support causes close to their hearts.
But the journey doesn’t end here. Nominations for The Rose Project Class of 2024 are now open. Whether it’s yourself or a deserving woman in your community, seize the opportunity to shine a light on their contributions.
To further commemorate International Women’s Day, Häagen-Dazs will offer free scoops of its “Founder’s Favorite” Vanilla ice cream in select stores worldwide. Additionally, limited-edition Rose Project Vanilla Pints and Minicup Collections will be launched, with proceeds supporting women-centric charities.
“We hope that Rose Mattus’ story and this year’s incredible winners inspire other talented and unsung women to share their own story and also put others forward in this year’s nominations. The Rose Project and our extended global celebrations this year are an important part of our long-term commitment to supporting the growth of women across the globe at all levels, well beyond International Women’s Day.”
Aurélie Lory, Global Managing Director of Häagen-Dazs
