Hallmark Channel’s same-sex faux pas is a holiday gift for Zola

Hallmark Channel yielded to the complaints of a conservative advocacy group that demanded a Zola ad be removed because it found the same-sex wedding scene in the commercial offensive. Later, in response to the backlash, Hallmark reversed its decision, a move one marketing consultant likened to pulling a Band-Aid off twice. Zola, however, couldn’t be happier.  The hubbub generated the level of attention PR agents dream of.

Waffle House Workers Strike for Fair Pay and Better Working Conditions

Waffle House workers in Conyers, Georgia, are now on their third day of striking over what they call the company’s unfair policies. Led by the Union of Southern Service Workers (USSW), Waffle House employees are demanding an end to the mandatory “meal credit” deductions from their paychecks, along with better wages and improved working conditions.
