Heart-Shaped Foods Are One of the Most Popular Ways To Say ‘I Love You’ on Valentine’s Day

Forget the flowers and candy — heart-shaped foods are one of the most popular ways to show someone you love them on Valentine’s Day.
There are so many different restaurant chains that are promoting heart-shaped foods this Valentine’s Day, ranging from snack foods and meals to desserts, with nary a rose or candy box in sight. Here are some of the more popular choices.
Krispy Kreme’s ‘Hearts in Bloom’ Doughnut Collection
Want to celebrate your loved one with flowers? Don’t go to the florist — head to Krispy Kreme instead.
Available today through Valentine’s Day at participating Krispy Kreme shops, the Hearts in Bloom Collection features:
- You Make My Daisy Doughnut: An unglazed heart doughnut filled with white Kreme, dipped in strawberry-flavored icing, drizzled with yellow icing, and topped with a daisy candy piece.
- Love You Bunches Doughnut: This unglazed heart doughnut is filled with Chocolate Kreme, dipped in red icing, drizzled with green stems, and topped with pink and red confectionery curls.
- Blooming Heart Doughnut: An unglazed heart doughnut filled with Cookies & Kreme filling, dipped in purple icing, and sprinkled with hearts in bloom sprinkles.
- You Are My Sunshine Doughnut: This unglazed heart doughnut is filled with caramel-flavored Kreme, dipped in chocolate icing, drizzled with a green stem, and topped with a sunflower candy piece.
“Our Hearts in Bloom Collection is perfect for sharing love and appreciation for anyone special in your life this Valentine’s Day. They might like flowers, but they’ll love our beautiful and delicious flower doughnuts. They are perfect for sweethearts, family, friends, and co-workers,” said Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme’s chief growth officer.
Hardee’s Heart-Shaped Biscuits
Every year, Hardee’s delicious biscuits get a Valentine’s Day twist. Hardee’s Buttermilk Biscuits in the shape of a heart will be a part of all breakfast sandwiches from Feb. 1 through Feb. 14. This is a first for the beloved fast-food chain, as for years, Hardee’s only offered heart-shaped biscuits during Valentine’s week.
This schedule adjustment allows for more time to enjoy Hardee’s famous biscuits with a little extra love added. “At Hardee’s, our food is our love language. That’s why we continue to put so much care and craftsmanship into our made-from-scratch biscuits, hand-breaded chicken, and incredible Angus burgers,” said Regina Schneider, senior vice president of marketing at Hardee’s.
“There’s no better articulation of this love than our heart-shaped biscuits to celebrate Valentine’s Day — a seasonal twist on our iconic breakfast items. We love seeing how this returning favorite brightens our guests’ days and encourages them to spread the love with family and friends,” she added.
Chick-fil-A’s Heart-Shaped Trays
Heart-shaped trays celebrating Valentine’s Day from Chick-fil-A remain a fan-favorite. These delightful trays include 30-count Chick-fil-A Nuggets, 10-count Chick-n-Minis (available during breakfast hours only), 12 Chocolate Fudge Brownie halves , and six Chocolate Chunk Cookies.
All four tray options are available at participating restaurants, as well as through delivery, where available. Customers can use the Chick-fil-A app to find heart-shaped trays closest to their location.
Dunkin’s Special Valentine’s Day Baked Goods
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Dunkin’ is welcoming back its heart-shaped doughnuts.
Beginning Wednesday, Jan. 29, Dunkin’ brought back two heart-shaped fan-favorite sweet treats. First, there’s the Cupid’s Choice doughnut, filled with Bavarian Kreme and topped with strawberry-flavored icing and festive sprinkles. Second, customers can enjoy the chain’s Brownie Batter doughnut, filled with chocolatey, brownie batter-flavored butter creme and topped with chocolate icing and Valentine’s Day sprinkles.
Through Feb. 18, all of Dunkin’s doughnuts will come heart-shaped. Doughnuts that are typically topped with sprinkles, including Munchkins, will be adorned with pink, white, and red heart sprinkles.
Heart-Shaped Pizzas
Papa John’s is offering its customers a heart-shaped pizza for Valentine’s Day for the ultra-low price of $11.99. Orders for the hot, cheesy pie can be placed via the app or in-store. This pizza is one topping only and comes unsliced. Customers can order this delightful dish for a limited time from Feb. 5 through Feb. 14.
Pizza Hut will also be providing customers with heart-shaped pizzas from Feb. 11 through Feb. 17. Its website states, “Our beloved Heart-Shaped Pizza is making its grand comeback soon, just in time to spread the love.”
Finally, California Pizza Kitchen is offering a sweet meal for two on Valentine’s Day. It includes one starter, two entrees, and one dessert. This offer is available from Feb. 10 through Feb. 16.
It includes a choice of Lettuce Wraps with Chicken or Spinach Artichoke Dip as a starter. This is followed by two entree choices, which include salads, pizzas, and pasta and main plates. Wrap up the meal with dessert, choosing from Red Velvet Cake, Belgian Chocolate Cake, Chocolate Souffle Cake, and Butter Cake.
