H&M will reportedly close about 160 stores this year, presumably in some of its toughest markets such as the U.S. and Norway. That doesn't mean, however, that the retailer is curtailing expansion plans elsewhere — the company says it will open 335 new locations in 2019 and chances are most will be in China, India and Russia where customers are still responding well to new physical stores.
