Honda Releases the 2024 Prologue Electric SUV
March 8, 2024
The automotive landscape is shifting, with electric vehicles (EVs) gaining traction as a viable alternative to traditional gas-powered cars. Amidst this transition, Honda has introduced the 2024 Honda Prologue, marking its entry into the world of all-electric SUVs. What sets this model apart? For starters, it’s eligible for the full $7,500 EV tax credit, significantly reducing its upfront cost and making it more accessible to a wider audience.
Fresh off the assembly line, the 2024 Honda Prologue is set to make its debut in showrooms across the country. Built upon GM’s Ultium Platform, which also powers several other well-known EVs, this SUV boasts an impressive driving range, setting a new standard in its class.
The Prologue’s base model, the EX (FWD), starts at $47,400 (excluding a $1,395 destination fee) and offers a commendable EPA range of up to 296 miles. Opting for the AWD dual-motor version adds a touch of power, with 288 horsepower and 333 pound-feet of torque, all for a starting price of $50,400. Those seeking luxury and top-notch performance can explore the Elite trim, starting at $57,900.
With the full EV tax credit factored in, the Prologue’s starting price falls below the $40,000 mark, making it a more feasible option for budget-conscious consumers. Lance Woelfer, assistant VP of Honda America National Auto Sales, views this development as a positive step toward making EVs more accessible to a broader range of customers.
Beyond affordability, the 2024 Honda Prologue also prioritizes convenience and modern amenities. Equipped with built-in Google, wireless phone charging, and dual-zone climate control as standard features, it caters to the needs of today’s drivers. Additionally, its fast-charging capabilities ensure minimal downtime during long journeys.
To further streamline the electric driving experience, Honda offers three charging packages tailored to different lifestyles and living situations.
