How analytics has evolved over the last decade

Babson College professor Thomas H. Davenport documents a number of changes in analytics that he was unable to predict 10 years ago, including the rise of big data and cloud-based storage and processing. As a result, he writes that it's now "easier to acquire specialized analytics solutions ... than to build your own with open source."
