Howard Schultz to testify about Starbucks’ labor practices at Senate hearing

Former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz will appear today at a hearing before the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions committee. Mr. Schultz will be asked about Starbucks’ labor practices that have led to charges that it has engaged in illegal union-busting activity. Workers at around 300 Starbucks have voted to join the Starbucks Workers United union since the beginning of the pandemic, amid complaints that the company was not doing enough to support them.
