Hybrid electric car sales hit record high in U.S.

Sales of gas/electric hybrid vehicles jumped 76 percent last year to grab five percent of the U.S. auto market, according to data from Wards Intelligence. Sales of electric vehicles were up 83 percent and now represent three percent of the total.
