Imports surge as retailers stockpile goods

Retailers are stockpiling goods to avoid possible future supply disruptions that may result from the novel coronavirus pandemic. U.S. imports grew a record 5.9 percent in August, the first year-over-year increase going back to September 2019, according to Panjiva.
