In-N-Out Burger Is America’s Eighth Best Large Employer

February 22, 2025

In-N-Out Burger has happy employees, according to a new report.

The Desert Sun reports that Forbes, in collaboration with Statista, presented the 10th edition of America’s Best Large Employers list last week. According to Forbes, this year’s ranking includes 701 enterprises with over 5,000 employees.

As with Forbes’ America’s Best Midsize Employers rating, the rankings were “primarily” based on survey responses from thousands of employees across the country. They were asked questions about their workplace and rated it based on factors such as compensation, work environment, and past employers. Respondents to the survey were also questioned about whether they would recommend employers they knew from their industry experience or loved ones who worked there.

In-N-Out Burger came in at No. 8, beating out companies like Salesforce, Apple, NASA, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Trader Joe’s, however, remained the second-best company, coming in at No. 2 on the satisfaction list behind only the University of Notre Dame. Meanwhile, Houston Methodist and NVIDIA came in at No. 3 and No. 4, followed by Navy Federal Credit Union, Google, and Microsoft as fifth through seventh place.

In-N-Out Burger Is Coming to Tennessee and Closing Its Orange County Headquarters

As the popular fast-food chain sets its sights on Tennessee, where it will be opening more than 30 locations, the company stated that it will close its Orange County headquarters after 30 years. According to a news statement issued on Feb. 10, the fast-food business intends to consolidate in Baldwin Park by the end of 2029, abandoning its longtime Irvine offices at 4199 Campus Drive.

The chain was founded in 1948 in Baldwin Park, which served as In-N-Out’s “western territory” headquarters. After erecting an “eastern territory office” near Nashville, In-N-Out Burger plans to add restaurants throughout the state before the end of the year, per company reports.

“Some of our Associates will be relocating to Tennessee, which makes it even more important to centralize our western headquarters in one location, and our company’s deepest roots are in Baldwin Park,” owner and president Lynsi Snyder said in the announcement. “Our West Coast family will be together in one place, where In-N-Out Burger began.”
