Popular In-N-Out Burger Location Closed Due to Excessive Crime, Says Fast-Food Heiress
December 27, 2024
A popular In-N-Out Burger location in Oakland, California, has closed due to “excessive crime,” says the fast-food heiress in charge of the operation.
That’s what Lynsi Snyder revealed in an interview on Christmas Eve, according to FOX Business.
“I mean, there was a lot,” she said. “There was actually — gunshots went through the store, there was a stabbing, there was a lot. For the safety of our associates, we just felt like, this is not OK.”
The In-N-Out Burger heiress also claimed that the police were slow to respond to calls for help — something that COO Denny Warnick also emphasized.
“Despite taking repeated steps to create safer conditions, our Customers and Associates are regularly victimized by car break-ins, property damage, theft, and armed robberies,” he said.
In-N-Out isn’t the only fast-food restaurant in the area that closed its doors in response to the violent crime. Earlier this year, Oakland’s only Denny’s location did the same thing.
“The safety and well-being of Denny’s team members and value guests is our top priority,” a spokesperson for the company said at the time. “Weighing those factors, the decision has been made to close this location.”
In-N-Out Burger’s Ugly Christmas Sweater
In happier In-N-Out news, the popular burger chain’s ugly Christmas sweater this year is gloriously ridiculous.
The California burger company’s 2024 Christmas release, according to SF Gate, has a 3D plush burger clinging frantically to a green-and-white sweater. The sweater, which features a row of the recognizable palm trees from In-N-Out Burger, is printed with the appropriate phrase, “Just trying to keep it together this Christmas.”
How difficult it is to survive the busy holiday season — especially one that has brought tornado and tsunami warnings to San Francisco — is somehow captured in the image of the anthropomorphic burger’s worried face and its contents slipping out of its buns.
The sweater costs $69.95 and comes in sizes small to 2XL. If the idea of washing the sweater, which is composed of a blend of viscose, polyester, and polyamide, with its 3D attachment is overwhelming you, don’t worry — the burger plush is detachable.
