Instacart to pay $46.5 million to settle suit over misclassified workers

Instacart agreed to pay $46.5 million to settle a 2019 lawsuit that claimed it misclassified workers as independent contractors rather than employees. The suit covered 308,000 people who worked for the delivery service. Instacart did not admit to wrongdoing in the settlement.
