Internet Giants Thwart Record Denial-of-Service Attack, Warn of New Threat

Google, Amazon, and Cloudflare have successfully repelled the internet’s largest-known denial-of-service attack, with Google’s cloud services fending off traffic over seven times the size of the previous record. This attack, which began in late August, highlighted a vulnerability in the HTTP/2 protocol, leaving servers open to a flood of rogue requests. While the perpetrators remain unknown, experts warn that if such attacks aren’t swiftly countered, they could lead to widespread disruptions.
