Iowa egg plant to euthanize 1.1 million chickens after bird flu discovery

A commercial egg-laying facility in Wright County, IA, will destroy 1.1 million chickens after the highly contagious avian flu was found to have infected birds within the flock. Iowa poultry producers have destroyed 13.4 million birds this year as a result of bird flu.
