Ithaca, NY to become first U.S. city to cancel rent payments

A new resolution passed by the city of Ithaca, NY gives the mayor the power to cancel debt rent from the last three months for residential and business tenants. Three-quarters of Ithaca residents are renters and the coronavirus outbreak has caused many to lose their jobs.
