Jack in the Box Expands Its Menu With 2 New Versions of This Fan-Favorite Item

January 19, 2025

Jack in the Box has been delighting fans for decades, and now fans have even more of a reason to be excited. The popular fast-food chain just dropped two new versions of a fan-favorite item. Let’s take a look at what we know about these new offerings.

Jack in the Box Has New Snack Wraps

According to Allrecipes, Jack in the Box is now prepared to introduce two brand-new Jack Wraps to its menus following multiple tests in a few markets. With all-white meat chicken strips, caramelized onions, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, and chipotle ranch, the new Chicken Fajita Jack Wrap is now available. The Chicken Caesar Jack Wrap is the second new type — it has the same lettuce, tomato, and chicken strips as the Fajita Wrap but contains Caesar dressing instead. You can grill or fry the chicken strips until they are perfectly crispy for both wraps.

Until Feb. 16, you can get any two snackable Jack Wraps for only $6, or you can get them in a combo with fries and a drink.

Not so long ago, we lived in a wasteland of fast-food chicken wraps. With the exception of Mexican fast-food restaurants, drive-thru menus seldom featured tortillas stuffed with chicken, lettuce, and cheese after McDonald’s discontinued its popular Snack Wraps in 2016.

In 2023, a new era of delicious handhelds ideal for dining on the go began when KFC, Wendy’s, and Burger King introduced crispy chicken wraps to their menus. McDonald’s gave in and reinstated its wraps by the end of the same year.

However, Allrecipes believes that one chicken wrap is superior to the others. According to writer Ann Walczak, Jack in the Box’s Classic Crispy Jack Wrap includes tasty sauces, crispy chicken, and an unexpected “pop of pickle.” She noted that it is essentially “everything you could want in a classic chicken snack wrap.”

The two new wraps are likely to succeed as well.

Can the Chain Outlast the Competition?

After a four-decade hiatus, Jack in the Box is returning to Chicago and intends to open eight new stores this year. According to the official Jack in the Box website, the company has “identified more than 125 potential trade area opportunities for future corporate and franchise development” throughout the Chicagoland area, which signals the start of an ambitious expansion strategy.

“This strategic expansion into Chicago allows us to not only satisfy long-standing customer demand for our brand, but also to become a key member in the region’s thriving restaurant scene,” said CEO Dan Harris in a statement at the time of the original announcement last year. “We’re excited to bring our unique menu where customers can order any item at any time — day or night, and we’re confident Jack in the Box will quickly become a favorite local destination.”

The action is part of a larger plan to bring the brand’s 24/7 menu items — which include a number of well-liked dishes like burgers, tacos, chicken sandwiches, milkshakes, and breakfast options — back to Chicagoans. The expansion will showcase the brand’s dedication to accommodating a wide range of consumer preferences by including multiple formats such as drive-thrus, freestanding restaurants, and dark kitchens.

It is challenging to find all the information about why Jack in the Box departed the Chicagoland area and stayed away for so long. According to the business’s representative, in the 1970s, Chicago had 20 Jack in the Box stores. However, in 1980, the firm closed these locations to concentrate on the Southwestern U.S.

According to its official website, Jack in the Box opened its first store in 1951 in San Diego, California. In 2022, the brand grew when it paid $585 million to acquire the Mexican-American fast-food chain Del Taco.
