JetBlue Offers New Direct Flights to the Caribbean

October 20, 2024

JetBlue has announced that it is helping its customers escape the brutal winters with new direct flights to the Caribbean.

PIX 11 reports that the airline is offering direct flights from John F. Kennedy Airport to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines for the first time.

One of JetBlue’s two newest services is the flight that goes to the Caribbean. In November, the airline will also start operating flights to Bonaire, Netherlands.

“This fall, we are excited to introduce Bonaire and St. Vincent and the Grenadines to our network as part of our strategy to serve underserved routes and our emphasis on adding flying into top leisure destinations,” said David Jehn, the vice president of network planning and airline partnerships at JetBlue, in a statement to the outlet.

On Wednesdays and Sundays, there is a round-trip service to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. With this new route, JetBlue becomes the first American airline to operate from JFK to St. Vincent. Starting on Nov. 5, there will be Tuesday and Saturday flights to Bonaire.

JetBlue Previously Announced Expansion Plans

In July, the airline announced additional expansion plans.

Specifically, the company announced significant expansions in New England that will result in a 20% increase in capacity this coming winter. This entails increased flights with other New England airports, new routes established from Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) in New Hampshire, and new connections at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS). Additional new services will include seasonal flights from Manchester to Fort Lauderdale and Fort Myers, as well as daily flights to Orlando.

The expansion also includes flights from Portland, Maine, and Providence, Rhode Island, and the airline will boost the number of daily flights it operates in Florida.

In addition, JetBlue is growing and improving its fleet by gradually replacing its Embraer E190 aircraft with Airbus A220 models, which offer more efficiency and comfort. Larger windows, contemporary power outlets, and a more comfortable seating arrangement are all present in the A220s.
