Jimmy John’s Enters the Fast-Food Wars With $10 Meal Deal

Jimmy John’s has entered the fast-food price wars with its latest meal deal offerings. Like every other fast-food restaurant in 2024, the sandwich chain has been trying to get more customers through its doors. Here’s what prospective sub lovers can expect from its meal deals.

Jimmy John’s Meal Deals: A Full Belly Without Emptying Your Wallet

Fortune reports that Jimmy John’s is ready to go up against Taco Bell, Wendy’s, and McDonald’s with its $10 meal deal. A bag of Jimmy Chips, an 8-inch sandwich, a choice of brownies or cookies for dessert, and a regular-size drink are all included in the package.

“We know there are a lot of value offerings on the market, but with the introduction of the $10 Total Package meal, our guests don’t have to choose between price and quality,” Jimmy John’s vice president of brand experience, Jeff Cobb, said in a statement accompanying the $10 meal deal announcement.

The statement continued: “We always aim to provide higher quality choices for our customers, with fresh baked bread, premium meats and cheese, and hand-sliced veggies. We know there are a lot of value offerings on the market, but with the introduction of the $10 Total Package meal, our guests don’t have to choose between price and quality.”

The deal has been available since Aug. 5 and will be available for a limited time nationwide at participating locations. As with all the other entries into the fast-food price wars, the goal is to bring more customers through its door to make up for falling sales.

Mediterranean Flavors

News of Jimmy John’s entry into the fast-food price wars comes hot on the heels of the unveiling of its new Mediterranean menu.

According to Deli Market News, the sandwich behemoth debuted its newest menu on Wednesday, July 31. The collection includes the Mediterranean Veggie Wrap and the Mediterranean Chicken Wrap, two previously revealed wraps that are served with Sabra Roasted Red Pepper Hummus. Pita Jimmy Chips and Sabra Roasted Red Pepper Hummus will be served alongside Jimmy John’s first-ever pita chip.

“At Jimmy John’s, we want our guests to experience the flavors of the Mediterranean without having to pack their bags,” said Kate Carpenter, vice president of marketing, in a statement accompanying the announcement. “Our new Mediterranean Wraps do just that—they capture the vibrant and refreshing flavors of the warm weather months, helping our guests savor every last bite of summer.”

A blend of oregano and basil seasonings, crunchy cucumbers, finely sliced onions, tomatoes, feta cheese, olive tapenade, and Sabra hummus are all included in the Mediterranean Chicken Wrap, which is presented on a spinach tortilla. Finally, a last sprinkle of vinegar and oil is added. The Mediterranean Veggie Wrap offers a delectable combination of the same vibrant ingredients for those who would prefer a vegetarian option.

The Mediterranean menu isn’t the only thing that’s new at the sandwich giant. Back in May, Jimmy John’s launched its spicy menu.

Firecracker Jimmy Chips and Wrap were launched in response to customer feedback and trends observed in stores and on social media. By incorporating the popular chips directly into the wrap, Jimmy John’s is meeting customer expectations for creative, tasty combinations.

The star of this summer selection is the Firecracker Wrap, which is touted as the spiciest item Jimmy John’s has ever introduced. The focal point of this wrap is a red jalapeño tortilla filled with salami, turkey, hot ghost pepper cheese, garlic aioli, Jimmy Peppers, and Firecracker Jimmy Chips. Originally intended to be a crucial element of the wrap, the ghost pepper-coated chips are also available for individual purchase.

“We know our guests have been adding chips to their sandwiches and wraps for years, and they’re always seeking bold new flavors from us,” said Kelly Morena, director of category management at Jimmy John’s, in a statement at the time. “So, we created the Firecracker Wrap and Firecracker Jimmy Chips to give our guests what they’ve been craving. This combination is the perfect complement to summer, a season full of fun, excitement, and of course, heat!”
