Jimmy John’s Launches Mediterranean Menu. Here’s What’s On It.

Jimmy John’s has announced a new Mediterranean-inspired menu. This menu features a variety of foods inspired by modern Greek and Italian food. Jimmy John’s Mediterranean Menu: What You’ll Get

Deli Market News is reporting that the sandwich giant has launched its latest menu, the Mediterranean menu, on Wednesday, July 31. Two previously unreleased wraps are included in the collection: the Mediterranean Veggie Wrap and the Mediterranean Chicken Wrap, both of which come with Sabra® Roasted Red Pepper Hummus. Jimmy John’s first-ever pita chip will be served with Sabra Roasted Red Pepper Hummus alongside Pita Jimmy Chips®.

“At Jimmy John’s, we want our guests to experience the flavors of the Mediterranean without having to pack their bags,” said Kate Carpenter, vice president of marketing, in a statement accompanying the announcement. “Our new Mediterranean Wraps do just that—they capture the vibrant and refreshing flavors of the warm weather months, helping our guests savor every last bite of summer.”

The Mediterranean Chicken Wrap is served on a spinach tortilla and includes Sabra hummus, feta cheese, olive tapenade, crunchy cucumbers, thinly sliced onions, tomatoes, and lettuce that has been seasoned with a mixture of oregano and basil. There’s also a final drizzle of oil and vinegar. For those who would rather have a vegetarian option, there is a rich blend of the same colorful ingredients in the Mediterranean Veggie Wrap.

The Daily Meal had a chance to review items on the menu, and noted that while it wasn’t perfect, it was certainly a fine enough option for the casual diner. “All in all, it was a tasty wrap that seemed to have Mediterranean vibes, as well as a clean, and healthy all-around appeal to it,” the outlet noted, while adding additional praise for the vegetarian option. “Somehow, it ended up being even more satisfying, fresh, and clean tasting than the Mediterranean Chicken Wrap was.”

Latest in a Series of Menus

The Mediterranean menu isn’t the only thing that’s new at the sandwich giant. Back in May, Jimmy John’s launched its spicy menu.

In response to consumer feedback and trends seen in stores and on social media, Firecracker Wrap and Firecracker Jimmy Chips were introduced. By adding the well-liked chips right into the wrap, Jimmy John’s is satisfying consumer demands for flavorful, inventive combos.

“We know our guests have been adding chips to their sandwiches and wraps for years, and they’re always seeking bold new flavors from us,” said Kelly Morena, Director of Category Management at Jimmy John’s, in a statement surrounding the announcement of the spicy menu. “So, we created the Firecracker Wrap and Firecracker Jimmy Chips to give our guests what they’ve been craving. This combination is the perfect complement to summer, a season full of fun, excitement, and of course, heat!”

The Firecracker Wrap, which is billed as the spiciest thing Jimmy John’s has ever launched, is the highlight of this summer lineup. A red jalapeño tortilla stuffed with salami, turkey, hot ghost pepper cheese, garlic aioli, Jimmy Peppers, and Firecracker Jimmy Chips is the centerpiece of this wrap. Originally designed as a key component of the wrap, the chips can also be purchased alone. They have a ghost pepper spice coating them.

Jimmy John’s has also introduced the Confetti Cookie Sandwich to counterbalance the heat brought by the chips and the sandwich. Two sugar cookies filled with buttercream frosting and sprinkled with red, white, and blue sprinkles make up this double-decker delicacy. This confection is meant to counterbalance the fiery tastes of the Firecracker selections.
