Jobs report shows U.S. economy is inching back

The American economy added 1.4 million jobs in August, bringing the national unemployment rate to 8.4 percent. The most recent report shows job growth slowing from July and June when 1.7 million and 4.8 million jobs were added. There are 11.5 million fewer jobs today than there was in February.
