Judge says Amazon must reinstate fired worker and pay for lost wages

April 19, 2022

A federal judge has ruled that Amazon.com unlawfully fired a worker engaged in a protest at its fulfillment center in Staten Island, NY. The company has been ordered to reinstate Gerald Bryson to his job at the warehouse and pay him for wages he lost when he was terminated from his job two years ago. Mr. Bryson and a fellow employee got into an argument over whether the facility should remain open in the early months of the pandemic. He was fired while the other worker was issued a written warning.
