KFC Introduces New Smash’d Potato Bowls to Its Menu

January 30, 2024

Kentucky Fried Chicken, known as KFC, is enhancing its selection with the addition of the new Smash’d Potato Bowls. This new item joined the menu nationwide on Monday, Jan. 30.

The new addition centers on potatoes and is attractively priced at $3.49 in most locations. However, prices may vary in certain regions, like Hawaii and Alaska, and across different delivery apps.

The contents of the Smash’d Potato Bowl include french fries and mashed potatoes. The bowl also contains crumbled bacon and shredded cheese, all drowned in a warm cheese sauce. This blend of ingredients is designed to provide a varied range of textures and tastes for customers.

For an additional $2, customers can supplement their bowls with five chicken nuggets. The nuggets are a popular item from KFC’s menu and can add a different dimension to the potato-based dish.

The Smash’d Potato Bowl offers customers a unique way to experience comfort food. The combination of different flavors and textures aims to effectively quench hunger.

KFC also announced the launch of its $20 “Taste of KFC” meal. This deal comprises six chicken pieces, accompanied by a selection of four sides. Customers can choose from a list of options, including mashed potatoes, coleslaw, corn, macaroni and cheese, and biscuits.

KFC was first established in 1952 in Louisville, Kentucky, and has since expanded globally. Today, KFC has approximately 29,000 locations in nearly 150 different countries and territories worldwide.

The introduction of the Smash’d Potato Bowls and the $20 Taste of KFC meal to its menu helps maintain KFC’s commitment to serving popular fast-food dishes while exploring new flavor combinations. The new menu item looks poised to provide a fresh take on comfort food, with a focus on potatoes as the main ingredient. Only time will tell if consumers respond positively to this new menu addition.
