KFC India Unveils First-Ever Sign Language Training for Employees
September 23, 2024
KFC has announced that it has begun training its employees in sign language, marking the first training of its kind.
According to Everything Experiential, KFC became the first QSR in India to introduce a sign language training program for all its staff in honor of the International Day of Sign Languages. All 17,000+ KFC employees in India, who are dispersed throughout more than 240 cities in over 1,200 restaurants, as well as those who work in the company’s corporate offices, are expected to participate in the groundbreaking training.
The online course for employees, which was created in cooperation with a sign language specialist, consists of several lessons that are specially designed to help a beginner understand the fundamentals of ISL. The ISL alphabets were the subject of the first module, and the regular phrases and greetings necessary to carry on a conversation in sign language were the subject of the following modules. The training is a component of KFC India’s Kshamata initiative, which aims to close the ability and gender gaps and feed people’s potential.
KFC also created an interactive sign language kiosk to offer customers the opportunity to learn how to sign over 30 famous culinary dishes, including pizza, burgers, dosas, pasta, and hot and crispy favorites like chicken popcorn and zinger. It was unveiled at Select CityWalk in New Delhi and Ambience Mall in Gurugram.
KFC in the 21st Century
This is just the latest 21st-century move by the fast-food giant.
Last week, to give fans of the fast-food chicken chain and those adorable likeness dolls new clothes that transform Colonel Sanders from his white suit into a whole new fashionable style when playing “Funko Fusion” online, KFC teamed up with the recently released “Funko Fusion” game, which was launched on Sept. 13.
Colonel Sanders’ simple white suit variant can be found by players via a “in-game quest that is available to all players.” Mecha Colonel and Chef Colonel are the two additional special clothes that participants of the KFC Rewards X Funko Fusion collaboration can acquire on Steam and PlayStation 5. Mecha Colonel needs 250 points, or roughly $25 worth of KFC purchases, to unlock, while Chef Colonel can be unlocked for free.
