Kmart opens ‘Whole Lotta Awesome’ store to test new ideas
September 27, 2016
While industry watchers take bets on how long Kmart will last, the company is busy testing a new store concept in Des Plaines, Illinois boasting a long list of experimental features, from a “Happy to Help” customer service center and (if you can imagine) a concierge service for its loyalty program members, to sections devoted to $1 values. “In an effort to evolve the Kmart brand to better serve our members, we will continue these efforts to test and learn at our stores,” said Kelly Cook, Kmart’s chief marketing officer, in a statement.
