August 30, 2024
Krispy Kreme is offering a fabulous promotion for its patrons this Labor Day. If you’ve ever wanted a dozen doughnuts for a Depression-era price, now is your chance. But be warned: This promotion won’t last for long.
12 Krispy Kreme Doughnuts for $2
According to USA Today, over the next few days, the chain is offering a dozen Original Glazed Doughnuts for just $2, letting customers celebrate the final gasp of summer. The offer is only valid from Aug. 29 to Sept. 2, and customers can get the doughnuts online, in-store, or through the Krispy Kreme app.
You must purchase another dozen doughnuts at normal pricing in order to receive a $2 dozen.
Additionally, the offer is restricted to two dozen per customer for in-shop and drive-thru purchases and one dozen per customer for delivery or pickup orders through the app or website.
For those who want to try out Krispy Kreme’s doughnuts designed in collaboration with Dr Pepper, this is the perfect opportunity. By buying a dozen from the Krispy Kreme x Dr Pepper Kickoff Collection, football fans and doughnut lovers alike can get an extra Original Glazed dozen for just $2.
This collection features an all-new doughnut that replicates the refreshing taste of the iconic 23 original Dr Pepper flavors, as well as a seasonal favorite that has been brought back.
“Two of America’s most loved flavors are about to become one amazing gameday sensation to make this the sweetest kickoff to football season ever. This Dr Pepper collection is a must-add to your gameday lineup, whoever you’re cheering for,” said Dave Skena, global chief brand officer for Krispy Kreme, in a statement.
The Kickoff Collection can be ordered online or through the app and website, picked up in-store at specific locations, or delivered. In addition, visitors can enjoy the doughnuts in a custom half-dozen box from Krispy Kreme, which is freshly delivered to a select few retailers each day.
Co-Branding Expansion
Recently, too, the doughnut giant announced that it would be expanding into McDonald’s nationwide.
According to Verdict Food Service, Krispy Kreme is getting ready to introduce its doughnuts to McDonald’s restaurants all throughout the nation. This will result in a large expansion of its customer base. The launch will begin in Chicago, Illinois, this fall.
By the end of the year, Krispy Kreme doughnuts will be available in about 85% of McDonald’s locations in the U.S., with an additional 5,000 by 2025 and 6,000 by 2026.
CEO of Krispy Kreme, Josh Charlesworth, claims that the company is always updating its doughnut manufacturing procedures. To guarantee a seamless rollout, a dedicated team is collaborating with customers like McDonald’s. The company’s priorities are modernizing its production lines, hiring and educating manufacturing specialists, and consistently improving its manufacturing processes.
In the company’s second-quarter 2024 earnings call, Charlesworth said, “We have a dedicated cross-functional team there to make sure the facilities and our people are ready. In fact, we’re also making improvements to the production lines and even doing our best to improve productivity and up our game as we go.”
He continued, “We’re very focused on delivering a really high-quality service to the McDonald’s restaurants so that people get awesome fresh doughnuts every day at the same quality level they expect in Krispy Kreme and other channels.”
The partnership between Krispy Kreme and McDonald’s was first announced in March 2024.
Every day, fresh doughnuts will be served in McDonald’s outlets across the country. The deployment will happen gradually, starting in late 2024 and ending by the end of 2026. A pilot run of this expanded relationship involved 160 McDonald’s locations in the Kentucky districts of Lexington and Louisville. Throughout the countrywide rollout, Krispy Kreme doughnuts will still be served at these same locations.
