Kroger Cutting Health Benefits for Employees' Spouses

Kroger said it can no longer afford to provide medical coverage for the spouses of its employees and is eliminating the benefit on Jan. 1, 2014. The company will make a one-time payment of $1,000 to affected parties next February.
