Another 100 Kum & Go Convenience Stores To Rebrand as Maverik in 2025

February 11, 2025

The convenience store industry is undergoing a shift as Kum & Go, a popular Midwest and Southern brand, moves forward with a rebranding effort following its 2023 acquisition by Utah-based Maverik, as FOX Business reported.

First founded by W.A. Krause and T.S. Gentle in 1959 after opening their first gas service station in Hampton, Iowa, Kum & Go currently operates over 300 locations nationwide. Several of these have already been rebranded to fall beneath the Maverik banner since the 2023 purchase, however, and 2025 promises even more conversions as Maverik seeks brand unity and service consistency under its purview.

Kum & Go in Missouri Expected To Rebrand 54 Stores to Maverik Locations in 2025

According to FOX2, 54 current Kum & Go locations in the state of Missouri are expected to enjoy facelifts and renovations during an extensive rebranding process, eventually re-opening as Maverik c-stores.

The process is expected to kick off this March and conclude by the end of the summer. Customers may experience brief periods of store closure during the proceedings.

Arkansas To See 53 Kum & Go Stores Move Beneath the Maverik Brand by Fall 2025

Arkansas is following suit, as 5News indicated, with the state’s Kum & Go stores already starting the rebranding process as early as January of this year.

A Maverik spokesperson told the outlet that 26 Kum & Go stores were currently engaged in the rebranding process and that 53 stores across Arkansas would be party to the proceedings by the fall of 2025. Locations include Bentonville, Fayetteville, Fort Smith, Rogers, Springdale, and Van Buren.

Michigan Is Up Next, Joining Other Kum & Go Stores Already Rebranded in 2024 Across 4 States

CSP shared details that Michigan was also about to see Maverik move into towns and cities across its borders, joining the 133 former Kum & Go locations that have already been fully rebranded in Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, and Oklahoma.

“We are excited to bring Maverik to new customers and bring a consistent experience in new markets for our current customers,” Maverik CEO Crystal Maggelet said, as quoted by CSP.

“The new rebrands reflect our dedication to delivering excellent convenience-store experiences across fuel, foodservice and inside-store offerings in all our locations from the Midwest to the West Coast,” she added.

As part of Maverik’s expansion across new territory, consumers unfamiliar with the c-store chain will be introduced to its rewards program.

“Rebranded stores will introduce customers to Maverik’s Adventure Club and upgraded Nitro rewards programs,” Maverik said. “Existing &Rewards members will be automatically enrolled in the Adventure Club prior to the start of their local rebrands and receive 500 Trail Points ($5.00 in-store value) to kick off their new adventures. Beginning in Oklahoma, these members will also be treated to 10 free fountain drinks to welcome them to the Adventure Club.”
