LEGO has revealed its highly anticipated new Natural History Museum set, and it is available for preorder ahead of its launch on Jan. 1, 2024.
This exceptional addition to LEGO’s Modular Building series boasts an impressive 4,000-piece build, infusing a touch of scientific fascination into its assortment, according to 9to5toys.
Accommodating a grand total of 4,014 pieces, this latest set is the newest addition to the esteemed LEGO Icons set, following the tradition of past installments in the popular buildable city layout category.
The LEGO Natural History Museum is anchored on a pair of sturdy 48-by-48-stud baseplates. This feature makes it one of the most significant additions to the theme’s construction and design. On the official LEGO preorder site, the set has a price tag of $299.99.
LEGO Icons: Natural History Museum Details
Although the design does not explicitly replicate a specific Natural History Museum, it integrates certain elements reminiscent of New York City’s iconic monument, specifically the magnificent pillars adorning the front. The museum boasts a classic architecture style typical of heritage buildings and comes in a shade of olive green, which adds a vibrant touch that enriches the diversity of any LEGO collection.
As is customary with the Modular Building series, the LEGO Natural History Museum will feature a fully furnished interior. While there are currently no photos of the detailed inside, there might be leaks or a comprehensive unveil from the LEGO Group eventually.
9to5Toys speculates that the model will feature two distinctive levels, housing a central atrium that will showcase a Brachiosaurus skeleton. While previous revelations hinted at a three-story structure, this plan appears to have been revised.
Additionally, the design of this highly anticipated set bears no resemblance to the model proposed on the LEGO Ideas platform a few years ago by user Bricky_Brick. Speculations were rife that the LEGO Group might draw inspiration from the fan-based build.
