Lincoln Recall: Over 35,000 Navigators Recalled Due to Fire Risk
March 6, 2025
Over 35,000 Lincoln Navigators are being recalled by Ford due to a suspected fire risk.
USA Today reports that according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), LED logo lights on vehicle outside mirrors may short circuit, increasing the risk of fire.
The business originally reported the recall, which affects 35,328 vehicles, to the NHTSA on Feb. 14.
Dealers will disconnect the LED light cables on affected Lincoln cars for free, according to the NHTSA recall report. Notification letters are scheduled to be mailed to owners around March 24.
The affected vehicles are Navigators with 2015 to 2017 model years.
Owners who believe their cars are affected by the recall can call Ford customer care at 866-436-7332. The recall number is 25S08. Owners can also contact the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 or go to www.nhtsa.gov. Car owners can verify the status of their vehicles by entering their information into the NHTSA recall check.
The Lincoln Recall Is the Latest in a Long Line of Recalls
The recall of the Lincoln Navigators is just the latest in a long line of recalls. In January, Ford recalled nearly 300,000 F-series cars for defective fuel pumps.
At the time, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the vehicle’s defective gasoline pump may have induced a power outage, increasing the risk of an accident.
“Biodiesel deposits may form on the pump drivetrain roller components, which could lead to failure of the high-pressure fuel pump,” according to the agency.
When a vehicle’s fuel pump fails, drivers may experience “extended crank while starting, a Check Engine Light (CEL), noise, and reduced engine power.”
The Ford recall included no reports of accidents, injuries, or fires related to the fuel pump issue. It involved the following models:
- 2020-2022 Ford Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, F-600
- 2021-2022 Ford F-650, F-750
According to the automaker, Ford dealers planned to update the powertrain control module software for free on recalled vehicles. On Jan. 13, 2025, impacted car owners began receiving notification letters in the mail. Owners with questions about this recall can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 and reference the recall number 24S78.
