Lowe’s and Wayfair will operate massive distribution warehouses in East Hartford, CT, on the grounds of a former airfield next to Pratt & Whitney’s headquarters. Local officials celebrated a ceremonial groundbreaking at the site. “Two point five million square feet of combined floor area between the first two buildings under construction is roughly equivalent to the Empire State Building,” said Ed Marsteiner, a managing partner of National Development.
