Lowe's settles lead paint case with EPA

The home improvement retailer agreed to pay a $500,000 penalty to settle a case brought by the Environmental Protection Agency, which found contractors hired by the company to handle renovations failed to follow protocols for minimizing the spread of dust from lead paint.
