Macy’s CEO Jeff Gennette to retire in February

Jeff Gennette will retire in February 2024 after nearly seven years leading Macy’s. He will be replaced by Tony Spring, CEO of Bloomingdale’s since 2014. Mr. Gennette has spearheaded turnaround efforts at Macy’s under the company’s Polaris strategy, which has included introducing new store formats and shuttering unprofitable locations.
