McDonald’s Is Selling $1 Orders of Chicken McNuggets Until December
November 8, 2024
After facing some criticism over the past years for its increasing prices, it appears McDonald’s is continuing a push to boost consumer sentiment by offering some improved value propositions — this time in the form of steeply discounted Chicken McNuggets.
Enjoy a 10-Piece Order of Chicken McNuggets Every Week Until December for Just $1
According to the McDonald’s corporate website, those who order via app will be able to enjoy a 10-piece order of the restaurant’s famous Chicken McNuggets for just $1 on a weekly basis until Dec. 2.
But that’s not all: McDonald’s app users will also be able to purchase a McCrispy sandwich for $2 on Nov. 9 in honor of National Fried Chicken Sandwich Day, as well as a free medium fries with a $1 minimum purchase as part of the Free Fries Fridays promotion.
Consumer reaction to the announcement on social media was largely positive, with many commenters praising the pricing and looking forward to a return to their local McDonald’s.
“I used this deal and they added like 7 sauce packets and a medium fries to my $1 nugget order (that’s all I ordered) I was truly blessed,” a user named generalfrogspawn wrote on Reddit.
“This is a game changer all local McDonald’s about to be out of nuggets,” user gage_bratz predicted via X.
McDonald’s $5 Meal Deal Has Extended Into December
The good news for those who enjoy dining beneath the Golden Arches continues, as McDonald’s also recently announced that its popular $5 Meal Deal ($6 in select markets) would be extended into December as well. The value meal includes:
- Your choice of a McChicken or McDouble sandwich
- Small fries
- 4-piece Chicken McNuggets
- Small soft drink
McDonald’s Pushing Hard To Recapture Customer Interest Via Value
In late October, McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski indicated that the quick-service restaurant had faced back-to-back quarters of slowing traffic and evidence of decreased global sales, despite advance warning of a “challenging environment,” as noted by FOX Business. However, it seems McDonald’s is continuing its pursuit of a strong focus on value in order to recapture a core demographic.
“Lower-income consumers do constitute a disproportionate amount of the customer base for McDonald’s,” Sara Senatore, senior restaurant analyst at Bank of America, told FOX Business. Senatore added that McDonald’s can perhaps zero in on “sharpening their value proposition” in order to bring their core customer base back into restaurants across the nation.
As for the $5 Meal Deal? Senatore suggested that this particular combo might become a permanent fixture on the McDonald’s menu, a sentiment that may gain traction. Previously, McDonald’s CFO Ian Borden shared that the $5 Meal Deal was responsible for “drawing customers back” after some had chosen to eat elsewhere in recent days.
“We saw increased traction, particularly with low-income consumers successfully growing traffic share with this group for the first time in over a year,” Borden concluded.
