Millions of American workers are calling out sick from their jobs

The spread of the Omicron variant is apparent in the numbers of workers who stayed home from work between Dec. 29 and Jan. 10. Roughly 8.8 million workers reported not working during that period compared to last year's highest total of 6.6 million.
