Moe’s Southwest Grill Joins the Cheez-Its Craze for a Limited Time

October 23, 2024

Moe’s Southwest Grill has announced that they have joined the Cheez-Its craze, but only for a limited time. The Mexican fast-food restaurant appears to be going up against Taco Bell in its latest campaign. Here are the details of what we know.

Moe’s Southwest Grill Makes Cheez-Its Available

In a press release announcement, it was revealed that with the addition of popular Cheez-It crackers to its list of free and fresh ingredients, Moe’s Southwest Grill is extending its robust flavors and limitless customizations. As long as supplies last, customers can enjoy their favorite Moe’s Entrée with Cheez-It Original Crackers for free.

“We pride ourselves in feeding the rebel spirit in each of our guests by infusing creative offerings to our menu so they can satisfy their cravings,” said Joe Artime, VP of marketing at Moe’s Southwest Grill, in a statement accompanying the press release. “Cheez-It crackers bring a craveable, cheesy crunch when added to our menu offerings. We can’t wait to see how fans customize their order with this fan-favorite snack.”

“Cheez-It is always looking for new ways to delight our fans’ obsession with cheese and appetite for excitement. We’re thrilled to partner with Moe’s for this ultimate cheesy menu takeover as part of its latest culinary venture. Adding the iconic Cheez-It cracker made with 100% real cheese to your favorite Burrito, Bowl or Queso is a dream come true for snack lovers who crave the delicious taste outside of the box,” added Michelle Barnes, commercial strategy director of Kellanova Away From Home, in the same press release.

Adding Cheez-It crackers to any build-your-own Burrito, Bowl, Stack, Nachos, Quesadillas, or Tacos is the newest method for customers to personalize their Moe’s order. To add a surprising and cheesy crunch to Moe’s Famous Queso, guests can now request Cheez-It crackers to be served on the side. From grilled onions and peppers to roasted corn salsa, Moe’s consistently offers a selection of more than 20 free and fresh ingredients, along with a range of tasty sauces and protein choices.

Taco Bell Competition

Moe’s Southwest Grill appears to be going up against longtime rival Taco Bell, which also recently reintroduced its Big Cheez-It Menu for a limited time.

According to a press announcement, the well-liked menu, which combines the Cheez-It snack with a variety of the fast-food juggernaut’s faves, was unveiled on Thursday, Sept. 19.

Following the nationwide launch of the Big Cheez-It in June, consumers requested additional taste. The fast-food juggernaut and Kellanova are doing just that by adding even more cheese to the Big Cheez-It Crunchwrap Supreme and resurrecting the Big Cheez-It innovations.

The popular Big Cheez-It Tostada, an a la carte Big Cheez-It cracker, and an upgraded Big Cheez-It Crunchwrap Supreme with an additional Big Cheez-It cracker inside are all available to fans.

Taco Bell’s commitment to consumer feedback is demonstrated by the reintroduction of the Big Cheez-It on a nationwide level. The Big Cheez-It Cracker and the enhanced Big Cheez-It Crunchwrap Supreme aim to fully satisfy fans’ cheez-y cravings in response to their comments.

Moe’s Southwest Grill recently enjoyed a spate of good publicity during National Queso Day because it gave all dine-in customers a free queso add-on for all entrees at participating Moe’s locations.

Moe Rewards Members also received a free side dish or cup of queso. Additionally, Moe Rewards Members were eligible to receive one complimentary cup of queso at participating Moe’s locations by using their Free Queso Weekend promotion.
