New MacBook Air Released, With New iPads Potentially on the Way This Week
March 4, 2024
Apple, the leading tech giant, is planning to release a number of new products this week, according to Mashable.
Mark Gurman from Bloomberg is well-known across the tech space for his reliable leaks. In his “Power On” newsletter, he wrote that, “Apple is aiming to release fresh iPad Airs, including a larger model, revamped iPad Pros, and M3 MacBook Airs in the spring.” According to new rumors, this may be true — and the new models could be launching as soon as this week.
As reported by MacRumors, which refers to a source familiar with the matter, this week, the company will “announce new products with press releases on its website.” The source did not specify which products Apple plans to announce, but the rumors are about “new iPads, Macs, and accessories.”
Today, as predicted, Apple unveiled the new 13- and 15‑inch MacBook Air with the powerful M3 chip and support for Wi-Fi 6E.
Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, said, “MacBook Air is our most popular and loved Mac, with more customers choosing it over any other laptop. And today it gets even better with the M3 chip and new capabilities.” He added, “From college students pursuing their degrees, to business users who need powerful productivity, or anyone who simply wants the unmatched combination of performance, portability, and industry-leading battery life, all in a fanless design, the new MacBook Air continues to be the world’s best thin and light laptop.”
According to MacRumors, Apple has recently revised internal support documents related to “unannounced or unreleased products” to assist Apple support advisors in effectively addressing customer inquiries about upcoming products. Additionally, the documents have been restructured and “optimized,” as indicated by an Apple changelog. However, specific details regarding the changes made have not been disclosed.
On top of the new MacBooks, consumers could see the launch of two new iPad Pro models, featuring an M3 chip and OLED display. Additionally, exterior adaptations and updates are expected, with the new iPad Pros appearing slimmer and equipped with a landscape-positioned front camera. A redesigned camera bump on the back and MagSafe wireless charging are also among the anticipated features.
There are also reports indicating that Apple is set to release two new iPad Air models, both powered by an M2 chip. One of these models will feature a 12.9-inch display, marking a first for the iPad Air lineup.
New accessories are also anticipated to accompany the iPads, featuring a new line of the Apple Pencil and a redesigned Magic Keyboard specifically tailored for the iPad Pro. The updated Magic Keyboard is expected to include a larger trackpad and incorporate aluminum into its body structure.
