Nike acquires a virtual shoe company

Nike has announced the acquisition of RTFKT Studios, a virtual shoe company that seeks to create "next generation collectibles that merge culture and gaming.” RTFKT sells its virtual sneakers along with non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The move is seen as a means for Nike to pair the purchase of real sneakers with virtual ones.
