Norwegian Cruise Line Unveils New Norwegian Luna, Set To Sail in 2026

September 29, 2024

Norwegian Cruise Line has unveiled its newest ship in the fleet, the Luna, which is set to sail in 2026.

In a press release announcement, it was revealed that the Luna is a Prima Plus Class ship. A range of sun-loving cruises departing round-trip from Miami on April 4, 2026, through November 2026 are available for purchase on Norwegian Luna, which went on sale beginning Sept. 18.

Two western itineraries to Roatan Island, Honduras; Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico; and Harvest Caye, Belize, the brand’s resort-style destination, will mark the beginning of the Luna’s debut Caribbean season. Afterward, the ship will embark on seven-day cruises that will visit several stunning Eastern Caribbean locations, including Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; Tortola, British Virgin Islands; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; and Great Stirrup Cay, Norwegian Cruise Line’s island in the Bahamas, which will have a brand-new pier by late 2025.

“Inspired by the relationship between the moon and the tides of the ocean, we are excited to introduce Norwegian Luna as the vessel that perfectly complements her sister ship, Norwegian Aqua,” said David J. Herrera, president of Norwegian Cruise Line, in a statement accompanying the press release. “The debut of Norwegian Luna truly showcases our ongoing commitment to providing guests more of what they enjoy and value — a brand-new ship with the latest, innovative offerings sailing to the beautiful, tropical destinations of the Caribbean. It’s important to give our guests more to see, more to do, more to enjoy on board and ultimately more out of their cruise vacation. We can’t wait for them to experience Norwegian Luna!”

Norwegian Cruise Line: Home of the No Clothes, No Problem Cruise

Back in March, Norwegian Cruise Line made headlines when it announced it was teaming up with Bare Necessities & Travel to offer “The Big Nude Boat.”

For its more hedonistic patrons, the upscale cruise line will offer an option to go clothes-free in February 2025. Norwegian and Bare Necessities & Travel, which has been planning clothing-free vacations since 1990, are teaming up to produce a 10-day Caribbean trip aboard the Norwegian Pearl.

Starting on Feb. 3, 2025, the ship will leave the Port of Miami and travel to the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, St. Maarten, Dominica, Martinique, and St. Lucia before arriving back in Miami on Feb. 14.
