Oakley ditches flagship's dystopian aesthetic for 'warmer ambience'

Oakley's dystopian-looking headquarters building in Southern California until recently included a small flagship store with a similar aesthetic. That has changed with a remodel that increased the store size from 1,132 square feet to 2,869. The new flagship has a warmer vibe and sits adjacent to the eyewear maker's museum. "We felt we needed to evolve the store," said Brian Takumi, vice president of soul and creative at Oakley.
