GNC has seen increased competition in recent years from rivals ranging from Amazon.com to Walmart. The vitamin and supplements retailer has also had to deal with high corporate debt. Those factors along with the business impact of the novel coronavirus pandemic forced GNC to declare for bankruptcy protection.
