Online sales rose 400 percent in the second quarter for Canadian Tire, helping the chain to partially offset the closure of all 203 of its namesake stores in Ontario due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. The retailer posted a higher the expected loss of 25 cents (Canadian) per share in the quarter.
